Saturday ride to Foret de l'Orient

Finally managed to get on a Eurotunnel train after one of the staff explained if we turn our allocated ticket over so the the letter didn't show they couldn't send us back and had to get us in the next queue

Steve looking chuffed we finally made the train to France.
We all decided to skip the ride to Cambrai and miss the first coffee stop. We decided to ride the A26 down to Laon for lunch at the square outside the hilltop cathedral.

Never been here before. Well worth a visit.

Nice ride afterwards along the Chemin de dames and into the Champagne region full of vinyards as far the eye can see. The temperature rising now we head to the hotel passing windmills and fields of wheat as well as those poplar tree lined straight roads often seen in France. I love riding them at speed, to get some cool air.

After a quick drink stop we soon rattled the miles down to the hotel in time for tea!

Woof!!

Ride to Annecy tomorrow, can't wait !!
